Celebrating fat joy, radical self-love, and honouring our bodies exactly as they are.

About WDoFJ

World Day of Fat Joy was started by End Weight Bias as an opportunity to reclaim a date that once meant our erasure.

For a long time, 11 October was marked as World Ob*sity Day. That date has since shifted to 4 March (which, we're also relciaming as International Fat Liberation Day), but for many people, 11 October still carries harm. We want to rewrite the narrative.

World Day of Fat Joy is about turning 11 October into a global celebration of fat joy! A day to honour our bodies, our lives, and our right to exist in happiness, pride, and community.

What Is fat joy?

Fat joy is living fully and unapologetically in your body, celebrating everything it can do, and rejecting diet culture.

Is this going to happen every year?

Yes. World Day of Fat Joy is a global day of fat joy on 11 October every year.
